SuperLotto Plus is California's jackpot game: five from 47 plus a Mega from 27, drawn Wednesday and Saturday. How it works, odds, and UAE and India times.

The short answer. SuperLotto Plus is the California Lottery’s own jackpot game. Each line is five numbers from 1–47 plus one Mega number from 1–27, drawn from a separate set. It draws every Wednesday and Saturday at 7:57 PM Pacific, which is 10:57 PM Eastern, so in the UAE and India the result arrives early on Thursday and Sunday mornings.
| Game | You pick | Drawn | Draw time |
|---|---|---|---|
| SuperLotto Plus | 5 numbers from 1–47 + Mega 1–27 | Wednesday and Saturday | 10:57 PM ET |
If you already know Powerball, you know the shape of this game. There are two sets of balls. Five numbers come from the first set, numbered 1 to 47, and one Mega number comes from a second set, numbered 1 to 27. Your line needs all five main numbers and the Mega for the jackpot. Everything below the jackpot depends on how many of the five you match and whether you also caught the Mega.
Because the two sets are separate, the Mega can carry a number already among the five. A result where the same figure appears twice is not a mistake. It also means the Mega has to be checked on its own: your Mega number is compared with the drawn Mega and nothing else, and your five main numbers are compared with the drawn five and nothing else.
The game belongs to California. It is run by the California Lottery rather than by a group of states, which is the main thing that sets it apart from the multi-state games it resembles. Prize amounts and claim rules are the California Lottery’s to publish, and we do not reproduce them.

That line shows how we write every SuperLotto Plus result: the five main numbers in ascending order, then a plus sign, the letter M and the Mega. Other listings may put the Mega in a coloured circle or a separate column, but the content is the same, five and one. When you copy a result into a message for someone checking a ticket at home, keep the plus sign or say “Mega” out loud. A list of six numbers with no marker is exactly how a Mega ends up being read as a sixth main number, and a ticket that won something at the lower levels gets thrown away.
The similar names cause real confusion. SuperLotto Plus calls its extra ball the Mega; Mega Millions calls its extra ball the Mega Ball. They are different balls in different games, drawn on different nights by different operators.
The SuperLotto Plus Mega comes from 1 to 27 and is drawn on Wednesday and Saturday. The Mega Millions Mega Ball comes from 1 to 24 and is drawn on Tuesday and Friday. A ticket from one can never be checked against the other’s result, and the draw day on the slip settles which one you are holding.
Each game has its own results page and its own archive: the SuperLotto Plus results page for California and the Mega Millions results page for the multi-state game.
SuperLotto Plus top-prize odds: there are 1,533,939 ways to choose 5 numbers from 1–47, and the Mega is drawn from a separate pool of 27, so matching everything is 1 in 41,416,353. This is arithmetic on the game’s format, not a claim about any draw.
That is a much shorter figure than the two multi-state games of the same shape. Powerball’s jackpot odds are roughly 7 times longer, and Mega Millions’ roughly 7 times longer. The reason is entirely in the pools. SuperLotto Plus draws its five from 47 rather than from around 70, and the gap between those two main pools is enormous once you count the combinations. Its Mega pool of 27 is actually a little larger than either multi-state bonus pool, but that cannot make up for the smaller main set.
Shorter odds do not make any single draw easier to predict. Each SuperLotto Plus draw is independent; a Mega that has not appeared for a month is not due, and a run of low numbers says nothing about the next one. The frequency counts on our lucky numbers page cover this game too, next to a plain measurement showing they do no better than a random pick.

Converted for 8 October 2026. US clocks change in March and November, which moves every US draw by an hour against the Gulf and India; this table is recalculated every time the page loads.
California draws on its own clock. The California Lottery sets the draw at 7:57 PM Pacific, and the table above shows it as 10:57 PM Eastern because that is the one clock every US game on this site can be lined up on. Pacific and Eastern time change their clocks on the same dates and stay three hours apart all year, so the only shift you will see here is the single hour when the whole US changes in March and November. The California results page carries a live Pacific clock if you would rather see it in California’s own time.
In practice, the result lands in the UAE on Thursday and Sunday mornings, just before Powerball’s. It is not alone on those nights. Wednesday and Saturday are the busiest nights in the US schedule: besides SuperLotto Plus, Powerball, New York Lotto, Florida Lotto, Lotto Texas, Lotto America, Ohio Classic Lotto and Michigan Lotto 47 all draw on both of them. If you follow several of these, Thursday and Sunday mornings are when the results cluster; our guide to US lottery draw times in India and the UAE lays the whole night out in one table.
The commonest slip is step five done wrong in either direction: counting your Mega as a sixth main number, or counting a main number as a Mega match because it happens to equal the drawn Mega. Keep the two sets apart and the check takes seconds. The Powerball guide uses the same method, and for the same reason, if you also hold tickets for that game.
