Texas Two Step draws four numbers from 35 and a Bonus Ball from a separate 35 on Monday and Thursday. How to read and check a result, and its odds.
Published 14 October 2026 · the numbers in this guide are read live from our archive.
The short answer. Texas Two Step is a Texas Lottery game drawn every Monday and Thursday at 10:12 PM Central. Four numbers are drawn from 1 to 35, then a Bonus Ball is drawn from a second, separate set of 1 to 35. The two steps are checked separately, and the Bonus Ball is allowed to repeat one of the four main numbers.
The name describes the draw. Step one: four numbers come out of a set numbered 1 to 35. Step two: a single Bonus Ball comes out of a completely separate set, also numbered 1 to 35. Your ticket mirrors that shape, with four main numbers and one Bonus Ball number on each line.
| Game | You pick | Drawn | Draw time |
|---|---|---|---|
| Texas Two Step | 4 numbers from 1–35 + Bonus Ball 1–35 | Monday and Thursday | 11:12 PM ET |
Most recent Texas Two Step draw on record: 12 Oct 2026 — 2, 28, 25, 8 + BB 24.
On this site the Bonus Ball is shown after the four main numbers with the letters BB in front of it. So a result written as four numbers followed by “+ BB 12” means the Bonus Ball that night was 12, whatever the four main numbers were.
Most games with a bonus ball use a second pool that is smaller than the first, so nobody expects the two to overlap. Two Step is unusual: both sets run from 1 to 35. It looks as if the Bonus Ball should be a fifth ball from the same set, and people are often surprised when it comes out as a number already drawn. It is not a fifth ball. It is a separate draw from its own set of 35, and nothing stops it landing on a number that is also among the main four.
Four of the 35 possible Bonus Balls will match one of that night’s main numbers, whatever they are. So on average about one draw in every 8.8 will show a repeat. When you see one on our results page, it is the real result, not a typing error, and our records keep it exactly as drawn.
The repeat matters when you check a ticket. Suppose the main numbers include 9 and the Bonus Ball is also 9. If your line has 9 among its four main numbers, that is one main-number match. If your line has 9 as its Bonus Ball number, that is a Bonus Ball match. Only if you have 9 in both places do you get both. Each part of your line is compared with its own part of the draw, and never across.
Texas Two Step top-prize odds: there are 52,360 ways to choose 4 numbers from 1–35, and the Bonus Ball is drawn from a separate pool of 35, so matching everything is 1 in 1,832,600. This is arithmetic on the game’s format, not a claim about any draw.
Those two factors are worth seeing separately. There are 52,360 ways to choose four numbers from 35, so matching the main draw alone is a 1 in 52,360 event. The Bonus Ball then multiplies that by 35, because it has to be right as well and is drawn independently. That second step is why the jackpot is so much harder than the four-number match on its own, even though it is only one ball.
By the standards of US jackpot games, those odds are short. A Two Step line is about 14.1 times more likely to hit its jackpot than a line of Lotto Texas, the state’s bigger six-number game, which we cover in our Lotto Texas guide. The trade-off, as always, is that a smaller game builds a smaller prize. Current prize amounts are set by the Texas Lottery.
Texas draws on Central time, an hour behind New York, and our catalogue lists the draw as 11:12 PM Eastern so that it sits alongside the other US times. Either way, it is the small hours or early morning in the Gulf and South Asia.

Monday is the one night when both Texas games draw, at the same time. A reader following Texas from Dubai or Chennai therefore gets two Texas results on Tuesday morning, then a Lotto Texas result alone on Thursday morning, a Two Step result alone on Friday morning, and Lotto Texas again on Sunday morning. Our archive always files a result under the Texas date, which is the day before your own.
Almost every mistake comes from treating the draw as five numbers in one pile. Someone sees their Bonus Ball number among the four main numbers and counts it as a match; it is not, because it was compared with the wrong step. Someone else has a main number that equals the drawn Bonus Ball and counts that; also not a match. The opposite slip happens too, when a repeat on the results page is taken for a typing error and the Bonus Ball is ignored altogether. Keep the two steps in separate columns, on paper if need be, and none of these can happen.
The Texas lottery results page lists Two Step with the other Texas game we follow and shows a live Texas clock, so you can tell whether tonight’s draw has happened.
No. The four main balls and the Bonus Ball are drawn fresh every Monday and Thursday. A number that has been missing from the Bonus Ball draw for a month is exactly as likely next time as one that came up last week. The same goes for repeats: a draw in which the Bonus Ball matched a main number makes the next repeat neither more nor less likely.
If you like to look at the history, the lucky numbers page shows frequency counts for Two Step alongside a measurement of how that approach performs against random choice. It is level with chance, which is what independence predicts.
