Lotto America draws five numbers from 52 and a Star Ball from 10 on Monday, Wednesday and Saturday. How it works, its odds, and when results land.
Published 11 October 2026 · the numbers in this guide are read live from our archive.
The short answer. Lotto America is a multi-state US jackpot game. Five numbers are drawn from 1 to 52, then one Star Ball from a separate pool of 1 to 10, every Monday, Wednesday and Saturday at 10:15 PM Eastern. The jackpot needs all six on one line. It is smaller and far less famous than Powerball, with odds to match.
Ask someone in Dubai or Delhi to name a US lottery and you will hear Powerball or Mega Millions. Lotto America rarely comes up, yet it works on exactly the same principle: a group of state lotteries sells one game and pays out of one shared prize fund. What sets it apart is scale. Its pools are much smaller, so its jackpot is much easier to hit and correspondingly smaller when it is hit.
| Game | You pick | Drawn | Draw time |
|---|---|---|---|
| Lotto America | 5 numbers from 1–52 + Star Ball 1–10 | Monday, Wednesday and Saturday | 10:15 PM ET |
Most recent Lotto America draw on record: 7 Oct 2026 — 7, 10, 19, 20, 43 + SB 3.
A result therefore has two parts: five main numbers and one Star Ball. On this site the Star Ball appears after the main numbers with the letters SB in front of it, so a line such as “… + SB 7” means the Star Ball drawn that night was 7.
The five main numbers are drawn from a set of 52. The Star Ball is drawn from a different set holding only ten. Because the two sets are separate, the Star Ball can carry the same number as one of the main five, and that is a normal result rather than an error.
Every one of the 2,598,960 possible groups of five main numbers can be paired with any of the ten Star Balls. That multiplies the total by ten. Powerball pairs its main draw with a bonus pool of 26 and Mega Millions with 24, which is the main reason their jackpots sit so far out of reach by comparison.
Lotto America top-prize odds: there are 2,598,960 ways to choose 5 numbers from 1–52, and the Star Ball is drawn from a separate pool of 10, so matching everything is 1 in 25,989,600. This is arithmetic on the game’s format, not a claim about any draw.
Split into its two steps, the arithmetic is easier to feel. Matching the five main numbers alone is a 1 in 2,598,960 event. Matching the Star Ball alone is one in 10, so plenty of tickets get it right on any given night. It is the combination of both on the same line that is rare, and the Star Ball multiplies that rarity by exactly the size of its own pool — no more, no less, whatever the jackpot happens to be.
The three multi-state games we follow are all built the same way, so their jackpot odds can be compared directly. The figures below are worked out from each game’s format every time this page loads.
| Game | Format | Jackpot odds | Compared with Lotto America |
|---|---|---|---|
| Lotto America | 5 from 52 + Star Ball 1–10 | 1 in 25,989,600 | — |
| Powerball | 5 from 69 + Powerball 1–26 | 1 in 292,201,338 | about 11.2 times longer |
| Mega Millions | 5 from 70 + Mega Ball 1–24 | 1 in 290,472,336 | about 11.2 times longer |
There is a curiosity hidden in those numbers. A Lotto America line is almost exactly as hard to hit as a line in Lotto Texas, a single-pool game that draws six from 54: 25,989,600 possible lines against 25,827,165. Two quite different formats land in the same place because a small second pool multiplies the count by roughly as much as adding a sixth ball to the main draw.
None of this makes Lotto America a better or worse choice. Shorter odds come with a smaller prize fund, and every draw is still a long shot. The comparison is useful only for understanding why the jackpot figures advertised for the three games are so far apart.
Lotto America draws at 10:15 PM Eastern on the same three nights as Powerball, a little under an hour before Powerball’s own draw. If you follow both, the two results arrive close together on the same mornings where you are.

Converted for 10 October 2026. US clocks change in March and November, which moves every US draw by an hour against the Gulf and India; this table is recalculated every time the page loads.
Because the draw is late on a US evening, it always belongs to the previous calendar day by the time you see it in the Gulf or South Asia. A result you read on a Tuesday morning in Abu Dhabi is Monday’s draw, and it is filed under Monday in our archive. The table above is recalculated on every visit, so the one-hour jump when the US changes its clocks is already in it.
Mixing the two pools up is the most common checking mistake with any game of this type, and it goes both ways: people miss a Star Ball match because the number sits among their main five, or count a main-number match that exists only as a Star Ball. Keep the two comparisons apart and it cannot happen. Our general guide on how to check results covers the same habit for every game on the site.
For readers who check Powerball from this side of the world, Lotto America is simply one more result on the same three mornings. The two games are unrelated: different balls, different prize funds, no shared numbers. A Powerball ticket says nothing about a Lotto America draw, and a result in one never predicts the other. Our Powerball guide explains that game in the same detail as this one, and Powerball vs Mega Millions sets the two larger games side by side.
As with every lottery, past Lotto America numbers do not help pick future ones. The Star Ball that came up last Saturday is exactly as likely as any other on Monday. We publish frequency counts on the lucky numbers page together with the evidence that using them performs no better than chance.
