This page explains how buying works so you can recognise the real thing, and so you
can tell when a site that looks like a seller is not one. If you only came for the
numbers, they are on our results pages, free and
without an account.
"Dubai lottery" is a search term, not a product
There is no single game called the Dubai Lottery. What people mean by it is
usually Emirates Draw — a UAE operator running several number games — and
sometimes Abu Dhabi's Big Ticket raffle, which works completely differently. Knowing
which one you are buying into changes everything about how the purchase works, so it
is worth two minutes.
- Number games. You choose or are assigned a set of numbers, the
draw happens on a fixed night, and prizes depend on how many of your numbers came up.
This is what Emirates Draw runs, and what we archive.
- Raffles. You buy a numbered ticket from a limited series. There
are no numbers to match — a single ticket number is drawn. Big Ticket works this
way. The odds are a function of how many tickets exist, which is why series sell out.
How a legitimate purchase actually goes
Every real route has the same shape, and the shape is the thing to recognise:
- You buy from the operator, or from a physical outlet it authorises.
Not from a search advert, not from a WhatsApp forward, not from a site that appeared
in your feed.
- You create an account first. Entries are attached to a person,
because a prize has to be paid to someone. A seller that does not want to know who you
are is not going to be able to pay you.
- Payment goes to the operator, in AED, through normal card rails.
A request to pay by bank transfer to an individual, by crypto, or through a money
transfer service is the clearest single sign that you are not buying a lottery entry.
- You get a confirmation you can find again. Inside the account,
not only in an email. If the only record of your entry is a message someone sent you,
there is no entry.
The resellers question
A number of sites offer to buy UAE draw entries on your behalf, usually aimed at
people outside the country. Some are straightforward businesses; some are not; and from
the outside they look alike. We are not in a position to vouch for any of them, and we
would be doing you a disservice to pretend otherwise.
What we can say is what to check before handing one your money: who the company is
and where it is registered, whether the price is the entry price or the entry plus an
unexplained margin, what happens to a prize — whether it is paid to you or to
them first — and whether anything at all is in writing. If those four answers are
hard to find, that is itself the answer.
The part that costs nothing
Checking results never requires a purchase, an account, or an app. We publish every
Emirates Draw result within minutes of it being announced, and keep the full dated
history:

Three things that are true of every scam we have seen
- It tells you that you have won something you never entered.
- It asks for a payment — a fee, a tax, a charge — before the prize can
be released. No legitimate draw anywhere does this.
- It creates urgency: a deadline, a claim window, an offer about to close. Real
prizes do not evaporate while you check.
